Aesop’s Fables

About the Show

Adapted by James Brock, the show is comprised of five famous fables: ‘Fox & Crow’, ‘Tortoise & Hare’, ‘Donkey In Lion’s Skin’, ‘Fox & the Sour Grapes’ and ‘Fox & Lion’. These classic tales are woven together into a fast-paced, seamless narrative. Audiences will see transformations in time and place happen before their very eyes. Nagoya Players will bring the magic of Aesop to stage for both adults and children to enjoy in this exciting family friendly show.

Blending Japanese aesthetics with Western stageplay was a huge inspiration for Aesop’s Fables. Renowned artist and fashion designer Shoji Fujii has created a series of one-of-a-kind animal costumes that combine traditional and modern tie-dying techniques. The level of detail that has gone into these costumes is stunning. They are truly works of art!
