初めて英語劇に挑戦する方も経験者の方もどなたでも参加できます。NPJワークショップは子供達が演劇舞台を体験できるように構成され、いろんな英語表現や実際の舞台で必要な動作を指導します。また、参加者の子供達だけでなく、保護者様にも劇団について知っていただく良い機会になりますので、ご興味のある方は是非ご参加ください。お待ちしています。

Acting & Danceのワークショップ

Kory先生とJeff先生のワークショップ　１０回＋オーディション

日程：5月９日から7月１１日までの毎週土曜日
オーディション：7月18日（土）

服装

服装：パンツ、レギンスなど動きやすい服装で参加ください。スカートはNG。
靴は上履き持参、または裸足でも可。

オーディション

ワークショップで演技力を磨き、学んだスキルを使ってオーディションに臨みましょう。ワークショップで学んだスキルがオーディションでも課せられます。２０２７ショーケースの舞台で一人で言うセリフの役を演じたい人はオーディションを受けてください。

エレメンタリートゥループ（5〜9歳）

エレメンタリートゥループのワークショップは、演劇への楽しく安心できる入門として設計されています。ゲームや身体表現、シンプルなパフォーマンス活動を通して、子どもたちは演技の基礎を学びながら、自信と創造力を育てます。表現力やチームワーク、英語を使ったコミュニケーションを、リラックスした雰囲気の中で自然に身につけていきます。声・表情・身体を使って物語を表現する力や、舞台での基礎的なスキルも学びます。経験は一切不要。初心者大歓迎で、すべてのレベルのお子さまにご参加いただけます。一人ひとりが想像し、表現し、チームの一員として輝ける場です。

プレティーントゥループ（10歳以上）

プレティーントゥループのワークショップは、より発展的なスキル習得に焦点を当てたプログラムです。演技テクニックやキャラクター作り、ストーリーテリングを中心に、身体表現・発声・舞台での存在感を総合的に高めていきます。また、「聞く力」と「反応する力」を大切にし、アンサンブルとしての協働力も育成します。より挑戦的な内容に取り組みながら、自信と集中力を養い、次のステップへとつなげていきます。初心者も歓迎しつつ、着実な成長とレベルアップをサポートするワークショップです。

インストラクター紹介

コリー・アレグサンダー・マジャンスキー氏はニューヨークのコロンビア大学で日本語・日本文学・歴史を専攻し、その傍、演劇の学校に通う。卒業後はニューヨークで劇作家・演出家・役者として活躍。２０２４年英会話講師として来日。マイズナーメソッドと呼ばれる演技方法で役柄に没入し素晴らしい表現力を発揮。NYのマギー・フラニガン・スタジオで劇作家として活躍。来日早々の２０２４年には名古屋プレイヤーズ制作「ロミオとジュリエット」に出演し、多くの観客を魅了。また、アメリカの演劇団体コートラックの支援を受け、２０２４年オリジナル作品で舞台制作。NPJ子供英語劇２０２６ショーケースを演出し大好評を博する。

1961年にシカゴで生まれ、オレゴン州ポートランドで育ったジェフは、14歳で演技とダンスの世界に足を踏み入れました。50年以上にわたり舞台とダンスに携わり、『オクラホマ！』『パジャマ・ゲーム』『ウィズ』などのミュージカルに出演し、ジェファーソン・ダンサーズのメンバーとしても活躍しました。その後、日本でのキャリアを築き、京都や名古屋でジャズダンス、タップダンス、ブレイクダンスを指導。FM愛知、CBC、Radio iではナレーターやラジオDJとしても活動しました。現在は愛知でタップダンスと英語を教えています。2020年以降は名古屋プレイヤーズ・ジュニアで脚本・演出・振付を手がけ、若いパフォーマーの育成に尽力しています。

First-timers and returning performers are both welcome. NPJ Workshops are designed to give children a soft introduction to the performing arts. Children will practice a variety of English and acting activities used for stage performance. These workshops will help children as well as parents understand the level of commitment needed to join the show.

*Please note that age is just a guideline when assigning a child to a troupe. English proficiency and previous experience will also be considered.

Participation Fee:
Workshops: ¥2000 per session. 10 sessions = ¥20,000
Showcase Audition (optional): ¥2000

Attire

Please dress comfortably in exercise clothing that would be suitable for yoga or fitness workouts. No high heels, dresses, or leather shoes. Bare feet or rubber soles are preferred.

Auditions

The skills learned through the workshops will be applied in the audition process. Children who wish to get large and leading roles will greatly benefit from the experience. Children who wish to get speaking parts in the upcoming Nagoya Players Junior Showcase will need to go through the audition process.

Elementary Troupe Workshops (Ages 5–9)

Our Elementary Troupe workshops are designed as a fun and supportive introduction to theatre. Through games, movement, and simple performance activities, children will explore acting while building confidence and creativity. Sessions focus on expression, teamwork, and using English in an engaging, low-pressure environment. Participants will learn how to use their voice, face, and body to bring stories to life, while developing communication skills and stage awareness. No prior experience is required—these workshops are beginner-friendly and open to all levels. Every child is encouraged to participate, imagine, and shine as part of an ensemble.

Pre-Teen Troupe Workshops (Ages 10–13)

Our Pre-Teen Troupe workshops focus on developing core performance skills in a structured and creative environment. Students will explore acting techniques, character development, and storytelling, while also working on movement, voice, and stage presence. Emphasis is placed on listening, responding, and working as part of an ensemble. These sessions are ideal for students ready to deepen their skills and take on more challenging material, building confidence and discipline along the way. While still welcoming, the workshops are designed to support growth and progression, helping young performers transition from beginner to more experienced stage work.

Instructors

Kory is a theatre writer, director, actor and english teacher for kids and adults. They are from New York and graduated Columbia University with a degree in Japanese language, culture, and history. They developed a strong background in Meisner Acting technique, open movement, natural voice, and playwriting at the Maggie Flanigan Studio (NYC). Kory performed in Nagoya Players’ Romeo & Juliet (2024) and recently wrote and directed Nagoya Players Junior Showcase 2026. Founder of Coat Rack, an experimental theatre group that produces original stories for the stage, Kory wants to remind us that it’s called a play for a reason. So let’s play!

Jeff, born in Chicago in 1961 and raised in Portland, began acting and dancing at 14. With over 50 years in theater and dance, he performed in musicals like Oklahoma, The Pajama Game, and The Wiz, and danced with the Jefferson Dancers. He later built a career in Japan, teaching jazz, tap, and breakdance in Kyoto and Nagoya. Jeff also worked as a narrator and radio DJ for FM Aichi, CBC, and Radio i. He currently teaches tap dance and English in Aichi. Since 2020, he has written, directed, and choreographed for Nagoya Players Junior, continuing to inspire young performers.
