For our next NPJ Showcase we have designed another original mini-musical. Children participating in the show will develop English, acting, and dancing skills. In addition to those skills, we’d also like to introduce vocal training.
Our next show, Penny’s World of Dreams, will focus on the theme of, “Sharing is Caring”. The story centers on PENNY and her amazing adventures inside her dreams. She has to help her friends and stop a greedy toy pig named ZAG from ruining the Cookie Party.
Jeff Fritich will be returning as Show Director and Choreographer. Ben Dorman also returns as our Music Composer, alongside Jeff.
The NPJ Showcase invites children, ages 4~12, to participate in the show. Beginner level English speakers and performers are welcome. We have both small and large roles. Children will be given roles based on their abilities.
We will also be implementing Auditions into the next show. These auditions will be for leading roles. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 20.
Penny’s World of Dreams is tentatively scheduled for December 2023 at Youth Square.
In order to prepare children for the show we will run a series of English and performance skills workshops.
There will be 3 Open Workshops in April~May, first-timers and returning performers are both welcome. The Open Workshops are designed to give children a soft introduction to the performing arts. Children will practice the various English and performance activities used in the making of the show. These workshops will help the children as well as parents understand the level of commitment needed to join the show.
Showcase Workshops will be held from June 2023~December 2023 at Imaike Studio and/or Uchiyama Community Center. These workshops function as rehearsals and children develop the English, acting, dance, and vocal skills needed to perform on stage for the public.

Proceeds from the showcase will be donated to charities which support children in need in the Aichi area. We are very appreciative of your support. Together we can make a difference in the lives of many children and provide them with resources and opportunities that will help them succeed and thrive.
Nagoya Players’ English Education Initiative (EEI) has been developed to encourage a life-long love of language study in the residents of Aichi. From youth to adults we are creating materials and organizing events that will aid learners in their pursuit of mastering the English language. And have fun at the same time!
We firmly believe that early exposure to English is a key indicator for future success. Children who develop foreign language skills early in life routinely show improved performance at school and gain access to better career opportunities.
With each Nagoya Players’ show we also organize Kids, Beginner, Intermediate and Advance English programs to encourage everyone to further pursue their studies.
If you’d like a Nagoya Player’s EEI event hosted at your school, business or organization please email us at Info@NagoyaPlayers.org.
