Wow!! I didn’t realize Nagoya Players performed so many popular, classic American plays in the past!!

Nagoya Players has performed a lot of popular and beloved shows in our long history like A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, and many of Shakespeare’s plays.

Our Town is not the first Thornton Wilder show NP has performed. We also produced Matchmaker in 1980!!

It’s very surprising we’ve never performed Our Town before. It is said to be one of the most frequently performed plays in America. But finally the moment has arrived! Nagoya Players will bring the original English production to Japan, July 4-5, 2020 at Chikusa Playhouse!!

Our Town is a very fascinating show. I really want more people to learn about what makes it special. So, in the lead up to the show we’ll write the Welcome to Our Town Blog!!

We will post updates about rehearsals, conduct interviews and share some behind the scenes stories about the production. We really want people to get excited for the show!

If you’d like to watch the live performance, we recommend reading the original script. It’s a very beautiful and touching story. Reading the script will help you in many ways. It will help you appreciate the live performance even more.
