Our Town, Postponed•延期

Nagoya Players would like to announce the postponement of our summer 2020 production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. After careful consideration, we feel the best decision that can be made at this time is to reschedule the show to a later date.

Unfortunately, the challenges presented by the spread of COVID-19 have already and will continue to create an environment that makes live performance extremely difficult, if not impossible, to do.

We are now making plans to reschedule the show for June 2021. The future landscape for live events in Nagoya is very much up in the air at the moment. But we are hoping, sooner than later, the scene will be active again and access to the resources and facilities we need will become available.

We take very seriously the health and safety of everyone involved in the production as well as our audience members. Nagoya is currently in the middle of a government ordered lockdown with a foreseeable reopening of schools and businesses in late-May. COVID-19 will by no means have vanished by then, but hopefully the situation will be more manageable. NP’s production of Our Town will thusly be on hiatus until conditions have improved.

I would like to thank our Cast & Crew and our Show Supporters for making a phenomenal effort in the face of such obstacles. We have shown great heart and dedication and I can’t thank you enough for believing in the show and giving it your best effort.

NP will still be active during this downtime. We have a number of other projects and shows in pre-production. We are very much looking forward to putting on great English entertainment for Nagoya when it is safe to do so again.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please feel free to email us any time, Info@NagoyaPlayers.org.
