(日本語と英語の字幕) We are so proud of this young lady. When Valeriya started with NP, she was pretty nervous about getting on stage and delivering lines in English. However, with every production, she has built up her courage and determination. Her role as MARY in Untolled will be her largest speaking role to date, and she’s doing an excellent job. Valeriya brings a unique sense of humor and comedic timing to the show. This will be a fun challenge for her, and we’re so excited to see her take it on.

Untolled is a metatheatrical, non-musical musical. Follow the cast and crew of a well-known theater troupe as they get ready to perform Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Being theater people, they of course must laugh, cry, emote, spit, fight, make trouble, have trouble, spill, dish, make love, make enemies, get fired and rehired, and out and out quit… Oh, and some of them sing.

Nagoya Players veteran Performers Michael Kruse and Emily Bailey sit down for an interview with NP’s Creative Director, Shawn Mahler.
Michael has been performing with NP since the 1990s and has taken on a wide variety of roles in everything from Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor to Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Fresh-faced Emily started with NP in 2019 on our production of The Gift of the Magi and was recently cast as a lead in NP’s 2022 production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town.
The power couple of Michael and Emily will be on stage together in Edward Albee’s Counting the Ways. It is a charming, hilarious, and thought-provoking two-person show all about love — or the lack thereof:)
In the interview Michael and Emily discuss Albee, the show’s themes, and their characters. Michael will be playing HE, and Emily will take on SHE. The chemistry these two have been developing is pretty special.
