Nagoya Players’ 2022 Season•年度の活動
We have a very busy theater season planned for 2022!
Nagoya Players will be kicking off the year with a few events just for the kids. The Nagoya Players Junior Showcase is back and this time we’ve brought some song and dance! The children in our Act In English workshops will be performing an original musical Rainbow Connections: The Land of Kindness.
Then in March NP will be participating in みんなで育む子どもの未来フェスティバル (The Festival for the Nurturing of Our Children’s Future). We will be conducting a series of theater, magic and dance workshops for children in English.
Later in March we will begin our adult programming with Eve Ensler’s world-renowned The Vagina Monologues. This show will be performed as part of Aichi Vision – Music & Arts Charity Festival.
And to bring our season to a close (maybe), Nagoya Players will finally be able to present the long overdue Thornton Wilder’s Our Town!
We’ve been waiting a long time to once again perform for the city and its good people. We hope that you’ll join us for these fantastic shows!
2022年、名古屋プレイヤーズはいよいよ活動再開！
まずは、子ども劇場からのスタートです。
名古屋プレイヤーズJr.は、昨年に引き続き歌やダンスを皆さまにお届けいたします。Act in Englishのワークショップに参加した子どもたちがお届けするのはオリジナルミュージカル【 レインボーコネクション〜思いやりの国】です。

そこへ引き続き、3月には名古屋プレイヤーズは【みんなで育む子どもの未来フェスティバル】に参加いたします。英語を使った子ども向けの演技や手品そして、ダンスのワークショップを開催します！
３月末には、大人向けのプログラムもスタートです。
今や世界中で知られる演目、イブエンスラーの【ヴァギナモノローグ】で、Aichi Vision-Music&Arts Charity Festival に参加します。
そして、今年度（おそらく）最後になる大きな活動は、2年越しでようやく実現します、ソーントンワイルダー【Our Town わが町】です。
この町の素敵な皆さまへ、私たちの演技がお届けできることを心待ちにしています。ぜひ劇場へお越しください、お待ちしています。

Nagoya Players Junior is proud to announce our participation in みんなで育む子どもの未来フェスティバル (The Festival for the Nurturing of Our Children’s Future).
NP Performers Biajino-sensei, Magic Joe, and Jeff-sensei will be conducting FREE workshops for children over the weekend.
All NP Junior workshops will be conducted in easy to understand, simple English.

地元名古屋で活躍する劇団等による、舞台公演やワークショップ、名城大学の学生有志による名城キッズストリートの多彩なプログラムなど、子どもたちが一日楽しめるイベントです。
名古屋プレイヤーズJr.は「みんなで育む子供の未来フェスティバル」（名古屋市文化振興事業団主催）に参加いたします。このイベントは２０２２年３月５日（土）６日（日）に市民ギャラリー矢田と東図書館で開催されます。名古屋プレイヤーズJr. は３人の先生によるワークショップを企画しましたので、是非ご参加ください。（参加費無料）

The Vagina Monologues first premiered in 1996. It was a groundbreaking show then and remains a hugely influential show to this day.
Nagoya Players is once again very proud and excited to bring this show to Japan. The world is constantly changing and in several ways it has changed for the better. Yet still, many of the challenges Eve Ensler addressed in 1996 remain with us today. We’d like to encourage everyone to hear these monologues again so we may laugh together, cry together, and learn together.
1996年【ヴァギナモノローグ】この衝撃的な作品が世界初上演されました。
その後、今日にいたるまで本作品は世界中に多大な影響を与えつづけています。
この度、私たち名古屋プレイヤーズが満を持してこの作品を皆さまにお届けできることは、とても光栄なことです。
世界は日々変化して、人は最善を模索しています。それでもなお、1996年に本作の著者イブ エンスラーが鳴らした警鐘は今日でも鳴り続けているのです。
観客の皆様が、この作品を通じ、私たちと共に笑い、泣き、そして考え、学びの機会となりましたら幸いです。

Our series of performance based workshops have been popular with both children and adults. We have Acting, Dancing, Singing, Magic workshops and more. Children enrolled in the workshops will learn a performance skill in an immersive English environment. At the end of each program children will then be ready to perform on stage at our annual Showcase.
名古屋プレイヤーズJr.企画「英語で〇〇」シリーズは演劇、ダンス、歌、マジックのワークショップを開催し、多くの方に支持を頂いて来ました。ワークショップに参加した子供達が体感しながら英語を学び、恒例の舞台「Showcase」 に出演します。

Our Town by Thornton Wilder is a Pulitzer Prize-winning play that has become one of America’s best known and most beloved shows. The story centers on the residents in the small town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire. It’s a story of the ‘every-town’, a place we are all familiar with. Grover’s Corners represents core values shared by communities and cultures all across the world.
The show is performed in three Acts, with each act embracing the themes of Life, Love and Death.
Wilder’s writing has been praised for his beautiful delivery of universal truths. He speaks clearly and openly about what it means to be human. Our Town is a wonderful combination of humor, wisdom and sincerity. It is a fantastic show to experience live and a story that will stay with you forever.
ソーントン・ワイルダーの「わが町」は、アメリカで1938年にピューリツァー賞を受賞し、最も愛される演目の一つに挙げられる作品です。ニューハンプシャーのグローバーズ・コーナーズという小さな町の住民たちを中心とした物語で、世界中のどこの町にでも起こりうる日常生活を表現しています。そしてグローバーズ・コーナーズは、世界中のコミュニティーや文化が共有する価値観の象徴でもあります。
この舞台はそれぞれ｢人生、愛、死｣をテーマに3幕で構成されています。
ワイルダーの作品は、普遍の真実を見事に描いていることで定評があります。彼は人間であることの意味についてはっきりとオープンに語ります。「わが町」はユーモア、賢明さ、誠実さが見事に一体となった作品です。永遠に心に残る人生と物語とを共に体験することができる素晴らしい舞台です。
