(English Below) 名古屋プレイヤーズ　ジュニア　ショーケース　２０２３は全公演満席となり大好評を博しました。ご来場いただきました方々に心から感謝を申し上げます。

今回の「ペニーの夢の世界」は脚本、音楽、キャスト、全ての面で今までで一番大きな作品となり、出演者の子供達だけではなく、私たちクリエイティブチームもかつてない大きな挑戦に挑み、公演後には達成感で満ち溢れ、多くの学びと経験を積むことができました。舞台制作に携わった皆様、特に演出担当のジェフ　フリッチさん、演出助手のエミリー　ベイリーさん、音楽担当のベン　ドーマンさん、ヴォーカル指導の原あやこさんらの多大なるご協力のおかげで素晴らしい作品が出来上がりました。

今回の公演は恒例の「英語でタップ」チームが華々しい初陣を切って下さいました。

ちはるさんが扮するクレイジータップサイエンティストは最新の発明を披露、ロボットのジェフと2人の仲間たちはテクノロジーとタップを融合させ、パワフルなダンスを披露して下さいました。さなみさんは中国の楽器二胡で「となりのトトロ」を演奏いただき、観客の子供達も一緒に合唱することができステージと観客が一体化した心温まる瞬間を創造して下さいました。そして、やえこさんとまさこさんのヴォーカル「Around the World」とジェフ先生のサックスが最後を盛り上げ締めくくって下さいました。

その後　キンディーチームを皮切りにメインステージが始まりました。

メインストーリーにキンディーチームがプロローグとして参加したのは初めての試みで、無垢で可愛らしいパフォーマンスは観客の皆様を和ませてくれました。

「ペニーの夢の世界」はストーリーが長く曲数も増え、キャストの子供達には大きなチャレンジとなりましたが、各自それぞれがレベルアップし大きく成長できました。

今回のプロダクションは歌も沢山加わり、その分学びも増えたと思います。

主役のペニー（ジュリちゃん、まりいちゃん、きこちゃん）の友達フィフィ（トワイラちゃん）ボーボー（かなちゃん）は欲張りで横暴な豚のザッグ（カラムくん）に捕まってしまいました。ペニーはフィフィとボーボーを助ける為に私達をファンタスティックなアドベンチャーに連れて行ってくれました。

ペニーとおもちゃ達はギミーゾーンに住処を持つザッグとその家来ギミーモンスター達に挑戦します。そして、お話の最後には分かち合うことを教えます。

「ペニーの夢の世界」では「思いやりを持って分かち合うこと」と「夢を追い続けること」の大切さを伝えています。

劇中で歌われたオリジナル曲はベン　ドーマンさんがアルバムを作ってくださいました。iTunes、Spotify、Amazonミュージック、からダウンロードができます。お友達やご家族みなさんでお楽しみ下さい。

The Nagoya Players Junior Showcase 2023 was our biggest and most ambitious kids project to date, and it was a huge success! We broke many personal records and sold out all of our shows in record time. Penny’s World of Dreams was also our longest script, with the largest number of dance and musical numbers. It was a new challenge for the cast and the creative team, but we met it head-on and achieved every goal. Special thanks to Show Director Jeff Fritch, Assistant Director Emily Bailey, Music Composer Ben Dorman, and Vocal Coach Ayako Hara for helping us make such a wonderful show. 

Eigo de Tap kicked off the showcase with a fun new routine. The mad, tap-scientist Chiharu introduced the audience to his newest invention, Jeff the Tapping Robot, and the two showed us the combined power of technology and tap. Sanami then played beautiful renditions of music from Totoro on her niko (Chinese violin) while the audience sang along, setting a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We were then treated to the beautiful vocals of Yaeko and Masako singing Around the World, with Jeff accompanying on sax.

Our Kindie Troupe then began our main stage, Penny’s World of Dreams, and performed a complete act all on their own. It was the first time we combined the Kindie Troupe and Elementary Troupe together. The Kindies’ contribution to the story was super cute and perfectly set the tone of the show.

Penny’s World of Dreams was a complete, full-length musical and pushed the Elementary Troupe to a higher level of performance. For this year’s show, we incorporated more singing and vocal training, and the work really paid off. PENNY, played by leads Marii Takagi, Kiko Sugii, and Juri Thompson, took us on a fantastic adventure to rescue her friends FIFI (played by Twila Vigrow) and BOBO (played by Kana Kozakai) from the greedy and evil ZAG THE PIG (played by Calum Vigrow). PENNY and her team of TOYS ventured to Gimmiezone and challenged ZAG and the GIMMIE MONSTERS, in the end, teaching them the value and importance of sharing. Penny’s World of Dreams is a very poignant story that reminds us to keep our dreams alive and, of course, that sharing is caring.

今回の作品は４作品目となり今まで一番大きな舞台となりました。出演した子供達にとっては大きな挑戦であり、演技、踊り、歌の学びが多く、子供達の成長が見られます。このアルバムにはそのんな子供達のエネルギーがたくさん詰まっています。私たちスタッフ一同、そんなハートフルな作品に心温まる思いでいっぱいです。

今回の作品も再びベン　ドーマン氏が作曲、ジェフ　フリッチ氏が作詞を担当。リズミカルで口ずさみたくなるような素敵な曲をたくさん作ってくださいました。そして、ヴォーカルトレーナーの原あやこ先生にも子供達の歌の指導に参加していただき、この場を借りてお礼申し上げます。

We are so excited to announce that Penny’s World of Dreams: Original Cast Recording is now available for download and streaming!

This year’s musical is the largest we’ve ever done with our Nagoya Players Junior troupes. The kids in the program have taken on many challenges and have reached new levels in their acting, dancing, and singing skills. This album captures a lot of the energy and joy that went into making this production, and we couldn’t be any happier with the results.

NPJ Music Composer Ben Dorman and Lyricist Jeff Fritch have once again done a masterful job creating the lyrics and music. And special thanks to Ayako Hara for providing the kids with excellent vocal coaching, and Aya Kawakami for lending us her beautiful vocals.
